PhD (Mgt), M.Ed. (Adults) B.Ed. (Adults), Dip. Adult Ed (Aboriginal), Cert IV Training and Assessment. Sonya is a Gooreng Gooreng woman with over 35 years in Indigenous education, employment, training and community development. Sonya has been appointed as Regional Director Inner Sydney Empowered Communities. Sonya continues to teach and research in the space of Indigenous Innovation and Entrepreneurship with UTS Business School where she is an Honorary Research Associate and former Senior Lecturer, here Sonya received her PhD in Indigenous Women Entrepreneurship. Her academic work is highly awarded, including ARC grants, a UTS Teaching and Learning Award, and a Carrick Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. Interests: Community engagement, community empowerment, entrepreneurship, social and economic development.
